twin (noun)

1. something consisting of two corresponding parts

Drawing on my experience growing up a twin to a male counterpart, this series is a springboard for me to explore the common misperceptions around sexual characteristics, preferences, age, color and roles. Although I use old photographs of my face, the Twins series is not autobiographical; it is, instead, an examination of the multiple layers of identity and sameness in the act of being someone else. Despite clues found in the work, the viewers are left to question the authenticity of what they see. The images are at once insightful and amusing, holding a mirror up to contemporary society, reflecting social, historical, and ontological questions.
